After watching qualifying, hearing the interviews and then looking at the fuel adjusted grid for the race tomorrow the whole process of fuel loads added so much anticipation and excitement to my F1 afternoon and will certainly do the same tomorrow in the race.

We could see all sorts of scenarios evolve, the Brawns could (and probably will) come through to fight for podiums, Kovelinan has the potential to stay ahead, but is he good enough?? Lewis might just be able to pull ahead, but will it last through the two stops he has got to make?? We have one heavy Force India and one light. All sorts strategies and outcomes are possible and IMO it makes for a much much more exciting race weekend.

However if we were looking to Monza this time next year, with the absence of all the above, (and with no improvements in overtaking) we would potentially be looking at a much more processional race. Now IMO this will, in modern day F1, seriously decrease the value and enjoyment most get from watching a race.

Now I am open to seeing how things pan out next year but at the moment I say don't ban the refueling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you are getting at, but at the same time we will see many similar situations where some drivers will stop for tyres more than others next year...

I was a little disappointed to hear refuelling was on the way out. I side with Martin Brundle on this, it adds a certain drama to proceedings.

On the other hand, at least we lose those useless refuelling rigs. Also, it could suit The Chauffeur

I really don't know actually.

On one hand I see how it added excitement to the races, yet on the other hand GP2 uses the same system and is extremely exciting. We'll see how it is next year, and then we can either complain or enjoy the new system.

I'm not a tech expert, but it has to favour the drivers who are most conservative on their tyres. Which contradicts the idea of making drivers overtake on track rather than through fuel strategy.

Are we going to get 50 laps of defensive driving before a mad dash at the end?

this is what ive always feared

most of the time minus fuel loads, drivers will be very close to each other separated by fuel load or a mistake

the fastest car will usually finish on top -not so with what we have now

so if the cars are all in a rough speed order + overtaking is nigh impossible without a massive advantage + and tyres need to be preserved = to me that all points to processions!

theres not gonna be many times the podium capable cars are lower than 5th, and with that rough order the speed of each car will be too similar for overtake

i dont like it

Plus, when you look back to the late '80s/early '90s, it was always good to see things like Mansell pitting for fresh rubber then massively cutting down the gap between himself and Senna in the late stages of the race. I'd like to see more of that. :)

Tires will still be changed next season.

Id like refuellin to stay. Will take a dimension out when it goes.

In theory yeah, but things don't play out like that as much as you'd think.

Which contradicts the idea of making drivers overtake on track rather than through fuel strategy.?

Erm, how? If there's no fuel strategy then the only alternative is to get past on track, or merely try and make your tyres last while your opponent pits for new ones, which is kinda risky in several respects....

Are we going to get 50 laps of defensive driving before a mad dash at the end?

Is that any worse than a one lap mad dash at the start and then (usually anyway) 59ish quite predictable laps? :P

Then there are always the scenes like this !!!!

IMO, no refueling would be a minus. In one point, it would lower the chance of the weaker teams to win, and F1 would become boring, after the same 4 or 5 drivers would be on top every race. Well, there can be some surprises every then and now, but certainly not that often. And point two, reducing pit stops to just changing tyres, would make them boring. The fuel strategy is the thing, that may give everyone a chance to have good result, and grab some points. And plus, you don't really save money. So I say, don't ban refueling!
