I'm not worried the least. Some of you older members may remember the 'good ol' times' when Cosworth was the defacto engine supplier for the entire grid (except of course Ferrari). Did we not enjoy the races back then?

but that is because it was the best engine about, not because it was the only engine about
I meant when Cosworth supplied the majority of the F1 field it is because the DFV was the best engine to have.
Not like the new teams now who seem to have been pushed towards them.
ah ok got the wrong end of the stick.
So what we could see now is that because MB are limited to supply 3 teams if they come up with something that blows everyone else out of the water then we would have a 2 tier championship
McLaren & Brawn & Force India
followed by championship best of the rest.
there is a downside to every rule
but then it could go to the other extreme. Everyone has Merc engines apart from Ferrari, Renault, and Toyota.
When the end of year accounts come around and an Engine Builders, company CEO looks at how they did.
Merc 500pts
Ferrari 100pts
Renault 50pts
Toyota 10pts
If you where CEO of Toyota and you had no interest in F1 and the only reason you paid them millions of pounds to make your brand look good. how happy wold you be? Would you give them more money to make them better or decide that spending the money another type of branding is better?
true but Ferrari live to race and know they can win. Toyota on the other hand are in the wilderness and not a David or a Golieth
