I think Buttons problem now seems to be nerves.
Seems like every poor result perpetuates the next one into a deep, bottomless rut from which there is seemingly no escape. He needs, Needs, NEEDS to sort out his tire and quali issues; the rest will come. It's partly psychological for him at this point. Rubens can win in a Brawn and they have the same cars.
lifting off the throttle during the first corner scrap
I've never really likened Jenson to picking a fight at the first corner. He's more of a wait-and-see kind of guy, and it's worked for him to an extent. An example of someone who'll fight at the first corner: Kimi Raikkonen. That guy has no issue cutting your throat, kicking your dog, and violating your woman so long as it lands him ahead of you after the corner. Jenson just isn't that guy. He lacks that aggression. It doesn't make him a bad driver, just a safe one.
But really, what do you do as a driver in that situation. I think there will be a lot of pressure on Button in the coming weeks, and its really not going to be much help.
You rise above, because that's what champions do. I wonder how many times the tires weren't up to par for Kimi or Lewis, Mika or Schumi; how many times the car just didn't "feel right"... yet there they were, time and again, atop the highest level of the podium.
