Have we found out what actually happened before and during Hamilton's second pit stop??

Apparently it was a case of the pit crew not knowing which driver was coming in. :-\

they were trying to see if they could ekk out another lap of fuel from lewis's car and change pit stops between lewis and heikki , but they told lewis to come in , but when lewis had turned into the pit lane they had worked out he would have another lap of fuel , the front and rear wheel mechanics always go out a lap before the tyre and fuel guys , as the saw lewis coming down the pit lane the had to leg it out the back to get his tyres not heikki's bad times

Pushing the limits to much really. Lewis planned stop was for 37 and HK was for 38, they were trying to get another lap out of Lewis but by the time they gave him the clear to do another lap he just started to enter the pitlane so he carried on in so they had to fetch LH tyres instead of HK and they just couldn't get them out in time. The reason they weren't out waiting was because they didn't know which driver was pitting first because if LH stretched it out another lap then Hk would of had to pit a lap early or he would of ran out of fuel.

I thought the engineers reported to Hamilton that the temps on his rear tires were rising and that he should try to "coast" a bit if he could(with Barichello 3 seconds behind???) Then I heard that Hamilton thought he had a rear tire going down and that's why he came in unexpectedly.

None of that is correct I'm afraid. They told him the Brakes were getting too hot so he had to use a lift and cost method a little bit according to Martin Brundle the technique looses very little time. Lewis came in because it was his planned pit stop.

I was watching it on Speed and it didnt cut to the pits till after Hamilton was in. You only saw your man coming with the tire. The commentry thought it was an "unexpected punture". Then the other commentator said "oppose to an expected punture?". Got a good laugh, but it ended there a didnt know what happened.

You are correct it was not his brake's as his pit radio confirmed his rear's were overheating. As far as his fluffed pitstop it seem's that the team were still adjusting his tire pressure's but he came in a lap earlier than expected. No sense in argueing amongst ourselve's as we will either have to wait for a press release but most likely we will never know the REAL truth.
