Some of the TV channels are saying Vettel will have a 10 place penalty.

That would just about sum up their weekend so far  What did they say the reasoning behind the penalty was? Surely it can't be for the engine thing.

I'm glad Kovy's managing to keep up with Hamilton.
On that note - WTF was up with EJ's comment about Kovalainen's mistake on the last corner? 'I don't believe Hamilton would have allowed such a mistake'. BS. You don't allow mistakes to happen, numpty. It's not like Lewis never makes any mistakes. Eddie really came across as totally biased towards the Brits today, what with that and then him saying 'let's hope he [as in Button] can get past [Vettel]'.

Anyway, I'm just happy Vettel managed to get 4th. I was pretty worried there for a bit!

Vettel BTW has no luck. He always seems to qualify in the wrong places. On the dirty side of the track and right behind the KERS cars.

I think him being just behind is better than just in front - if he was in front of them, he runs the chance of clashing with them as they come past (which they would almost definatly do).

Good Qualifying, was hoping for better from Renault though. McLaren will most likely run away with it tomorrow.

I am really annoyed, had to miss qualifying because an electrician came to fix some plug sockets and had to have power off.

Nakajima has to go, Sir Frank and Sam Michael won't be defending Nakajima now he's failed to beat Q1. Surely they'll be taking a look at Hulkenberg who is now just dominating in GP2.

Nakajima had a technical problem. He was looking good to get into Q2 before that.

Looks like a forgone race, mcalrens to race off and they look to be the fastest cars anyway. Only interest is with vettle and button, with the kers of kimi just behind. Go rubens though. And seriously baodor? Hes gotta go at the next race, ferrari to give a seat to a gp2 driver who'll stand some sort of a chance.

He appeared to have some sort of problem, which stopped him doing a proper lap.

Hekki didn't even have the extra updates on his cars. I know we have to wait for the fuel loads now, to make any real judgements (which sucks) But thats looks like one seriously impressive result from Kovalinen.

Yup. Today he looked more like the guy who did so well late '07/early '08.

But GROSJEAN FTW. In one weekend he's been more impressive than Piquet has been this whole year. Only 3 tenths off Alonso's time. Thats impressive you have to admit. Considering that this is his first ever time driving an F1 car. I'll no doubt be watching Grosjean closely.

 Hopefully after today Piquet will finally realise just how bad he was and stop complaining and trying to get back into F1. Bet he doesn't though.:hehe:

emma, those TV stations are saying the 10 place penalty is for the engine problem.

regarding ferrari, it might sound crazy but, would it bring an advantage to ferrari in 2010 if they take alonso and put him in to the F60 to better prepare for 2010? (to replace badoer from spa onwards)

At last, a good Qualifying for McLaren and boy did we need it!
Badoer is just a joke, I mean I understand them giving him the seat but there is no way he can stay for Spa surely?! I would give it to one of the young Itlaians who tested for them last year.
Grosjean suprised me he did a fantastic job and really showed up Piquet I think!
I do hope Vettel can do well though tomorrow, I do like him, and I prefer him to Jenson and the Brawns any time. And I like the look of the red Bull :hehe:
Well I just hope we can get a better race tomorrow than we did last year!

I thought BrawnGP were going to lockout the frontrow. I'm not surprised with Lewis's pole as he is a truly talented driver and regarding Kovi it is funny how a potential termination can reignite the fire. I found myself thinking that I wish next year's qualifying rule's were in place for the rest of this season.

Utterly BORING qualy session... somehow this track doesnt manage to look exciting. For some reason, it never really felt like real Q.
Mclaren are dominating. Very strong.

I'm not sure if Alonso can be released from Renault that early also what happens if Massa gets back for Brazil. You would either have to tell Massa he can't come back yet or kick Alonso or Kimi out. Kimi is under firm contract for this year so he will want to finish the season same for Massa.

tbh, the programs broadcasting in britain, hes british, brits are paying for the channel, so hes gonna be biased, the brits are who most want to see win.

Ferrari's team doctor could be convinced to tell FM to wait till next season
