I would guess they folded his P45 into a paper-plane and threw it at him. :hehe:

Well if you are crap, you will lose your job in a crap way

Which begs the question, if this is how bourdais got sacked, how the hell did renault and flabo sack piquet?

Homing pigeon with the expressive instruction to land and then poo on his head.

The way they got rid of me was very disappointing. Dietrich Mateschitz was at the Nurburgring but he did not speak with me. He did not call me. Everything was done by SMS, which to me has no style.

Personally, I agree with him. F1 is a high profile gig, one would expect more.

I'm sure others will disagree...

Cheers

In that case I bet Dietrich used text-speak to fire Bourdais, probably something along the lines of;

"m8 u r fired"

:hehe:

Which begs the question, if this is how bourdais got sacked, how the hell did renault and flabo sack piquet?

Two reasons:
1. Flavio's ego.
2. Piquet is not a 4 time series champion.

I think he was looking for what method they used to inform him :P

Exactly, you added to my point there texasmr2 piquet is worse then bourdais and the idea is that since bourdias was poor, the poorer piquet will get a worse ousting.

If I was sacked via SMS from my day job, I wouldn't be too happy about it either. That pretty much sums it up.

From F1 Live:

Franz Tost has categorically denied Sebastien Bourdais' claim that the 30-year-old was fired recently via the medium of mobile phone text message.

Frenchman Bourdais, 30, last week accused his former employers Toro Rosso and Red Bull of lacking "style" by not facing him as they broke the news about his ousting in favour of Spanish teen Jaime Alguersuari.

"I told Monsieur Bourdais personally that he is not going to drive any more and did not write any SMS," Toro Rosso team boss Tost told Germany's Sport Bild.

He added of Bourdais: "I can understand that he is disappointed, but his performances were simply not what we expected.

"We wanted an increase in speed from him in his second year and it did not happen," said Tost. "On the contrary: our youngster Sebastien Buemi, in his first season, was better than him."

That's not actually true.

Bourdais Average Finishing Position (Note, slightly adjust for GPRWC Australia result with Lewis Hamilton included): 12.7
Buemi Average Finishing Position (Note, slightly adjust for GPRWC Australia result with Lewis Hamilton included): 15.2

The numbers don't always tell the whole story though, do they?

Maybe it could be the main theme for the launch of EJ's Jeremy Kyle-style chat show. :hehe:
