He could prove he's fit by driving the first session on Friday. The driver that participates in free practice doesn't have to be the one that qualifies. They would still have Schumacher as an option if Massa was deemed unfit after said session.

Really? That's an awfully restricted amount of winter testing.

When they were coming up with that rule, did they forget that following the winter testing is some of the only F1-related fun us F1 fans have in the winter months? What happened to them thinking about us?

well most of the teams new challengers aren't released until mid to late January anyways so its not that big of a deal.

Ya the winter testing is always something to keep the F1 fans going in-between seasons. That ban does kinda suck for us.
