Four Audi drivers excluded at Zandvoort

A few hours after the fourth DTM season round at Zandvoort in The Netherlands, four Audi drivers were excluded by the stewards of the meeting.

The following infringements led to the exclusions: Markus Winkelhock’s car had less than one kilogram fuel in the tank after crossing the finish line. Christian Bakkerud failed to show up for the mandatory weighing after the race. Alexandre Prémat and Timo Scheider showed up for weighing significantly too late.

The new order is: 1. Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz), 2. Mattias Ekström (Audi), 3. Oliver Jarvis (Audi), 4. Martin Tomczyk (Audi), 5. Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz), 6. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz), 7. Maro Engel (Mercedes-Benz), 8. Tom Kristensen (Audi), 9. Jamie Green (Mercedes-Benz), 10. Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes-Benz), 11. Susie Stoddart (Mercedes-Benz), 12. Mike Rockenfeller (Audi).

In the points’ standings, Paffett is leading with 24 points from Ekström (22 points), Spengler (20 points) and Scheider (17 points).

Because of further investigations by the stewards, the result remains provisional. A decision is expected within a few days, because technical data of the cars have to be analysed in detail.

Im not 100% sure of the DTM regs but perhaps they need to have at least 1 litre of fluids for scrutineering post race!

Gah. that's an annoying rule. If they have it in F1, we may see even more ridiculous post-race result changing next season then... :banghead:

Mattias Ekström & Oliver Jarvis might get DSQ tomorrow aswell because of position swapping. This is my 2nd year following the DTM series and never before have there been post race disqualifications like this.

Where did you watch the DTM? On the Web?

Does the UK have a broadcaster yet?

I was searching for live streams. I found something foreign. I'll get the link when I get home, 'cause I'm at work now >.<

Sky Sports to show DTM highlights
Wednesday, July 22nd 2009, 10:13 GMT

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77118

The DTM will return to UK television screens after securing a new deal with Sky Sports.

The German-based touring car series had lost its UK coverage when the Setanta channel collapsed recently, leading to two rounds not being broadcast in the home country of championship leader Gary Paffett and other frontrunners such as Paul di Resta and Jamie Green.

Sky Sports will now show a one hour highlights package from each race on the following Wednesday.

"We always used to carry the DTM highlights on our World Motorsports Show but that programme finished after ten years at the end of 2008," said veteran commentator Andrew Marriott, who brokered the deal.

"Fortunately Sky have been able to find this stand alone slot in the schedules. There is no question that the DTM offers some of the best motor racing action anywhere on television."

Negotiations are also ongoing to secure a new broadcaster for live DTM coverage in the UK.

Live coverage better not go to Sky :banghead:
