Still nothing official from STR and Buemi says that the team rushed, and that they will have the Silverstone updates (worth 9/10 of a second) for Hungary.
I have my doubts as to whether Bourdais is being replaced. I think Red Bull needs STR to pull any points they can off of Brawn and the kid is just a little too questionable.
Bordais was hugging all the members of his team after his car broke down in Germany, the commentators on FOX said they thought he was saying his farewells to the team (paraphrasing). He may not have known at the beginning of the weekend when he was asked by the media, but it seemed pretty definitive after the race. I agree with you though, its foolish to get rid of your only experienced driver capable of building a good setup, to bring in a new kid with no experience. The fastest driver in the world couldn't get the results STR wants consistently. One thing I find people saying a lot is that hes being removed because he has been outperformed by his new team mate, which is simply not the case... Buemi does have 3 points to Bordais' 2, but if you look at average race position, Bordais beats out Buemi, and if you took mechanical failures such as Germany out of the equation, the difference would be quite large. His qualifying sucks, there can be no argument there, but he has consistently finished races ahead of Buemi, so does it really matter? Personally I think in a proper ride, Bordais would show us his true colors, STR is just the wrong team.
