It's a prototype for a Mclaren F1, around 2002/3 vintage. Part of the brake system.

Smart Roadsters aren't quick enough to need anything that clever ;)

Apologies then, do you have any better pictures of said device?

I would imagine it holds some value, but only to specific collectors.

I'll take some more pics and post them up.

The Roadster is a good fun car, once I've finished my induction mods it should fly, the remap certainly helped, a stronger clutch is next on the list though ;)

Wasn't a million miles away then :lol: if there covers, it explains why there's no lining in there !!!

Suppose there must be some McLaren F1 enthusiasts out there looking for something a bit different.
