It's looks a bit like a finned brake drum with no lining inside it ?

It's a prototype for a Mclaren F1, around 2002/3 vintage. Part of the brake system.
Smart Roadsters aren't quick enough to need anything that clever

I'll take some more pics and post them up.
The Roadster is a good fun car, once I've finished my induction mods it should fly, the remap certainly helped, a stronger clutch is next on the list though

Wasn't a million miles away then
if there covers, it explains why there's no lining in there !!!
Suppose there must be some McLaren F1 enthusiasts out there looking for something a bit different.
