Merc... almost sounds tinny imo, compared to the others. Ferrari and Toyota don't sound all too great either, Renault sounds decent enough if i remember rightly. To be fair, none of the modern V8's actually sound that good compared to a lot of other cars/engines so it's all relative!

Be careful when saying it's tinny! :hehe:

The V8's sound a bit whiny IMO - particularly at high revs - makes it sound like a Scalextric car.

I miss the V10's as well, but when they started hitting 19K ish revs they too started to sound a bit whiny. The V10 sounded best in it's 3.5 Litre format, always sounded like it had a nice 'bite' to it on the onboard footage.

Yeah tinny is probably the wrong word on review, more... nasal? I dunno, sounds are tough to describe. :P

I don't know what they were thinking, the cosworth will be a dog just like it always has been.

I think it's pretty obvious that the three new teams are getting the Cosworth engines for really cheap, they are all three running on small budgets and Cosworth probably gave extremely reasonable offers because they want back in F1 so badly.

As for the new teams already being behind in car development, aero package etc. I wouldn't be so sure. I cant speak for the other two teams as I have not fallowed them, but the USGPE team has plans to start track testing around November, that's a good amount of time to fine tune it before the start of next season, not to mention they have one of the worlds finest wind tunnels at their disposal and will no doubt have picked up some of the best available engineers, I expect this team will turn some heads come 2010.

They are already my favorite team for 2010 and yes I am horribly biased lol.

The BMW engine isn't exactly the most reliable either...

 Your right there. So much for Swiss-German precision

Yeah, Kubica is going through engines faster than Elvis Presley ate burgers.

Didn't you mean Mr. Chubby?

Building an engine to an older specification doesnt mean building exactly the same engine. As long as it meets the old regulations...I'm sure Cosworth can 'interpret' the spec just as well as the other manufacturers.
