I find it rather strange that those who are complaining the most about the past being brought up, are the same one who still drone on about Schumacher every chance they get, or Alonso's crybaby fits of a couple years ago. Odd how that is...eh?

And Longbow...I've thrown Alonso under many a bus for the way he handled the McLaren affair and Schumacher has often been criticized by yours truly...though his driving skill must be recognized. While you love to say I have only picked on your beloved, the truth is when a driver says or does something stupid...and someone else brings up the conversation, I feel free to join in. That is what these boards are about right? Or have I absentmindedly wandered into the Hamilton love-in knitting circle? The reason you so often read my words about Hamilton is because no matter what the topic, whichever driver, track or car is being discussed...one of the few of you is going to bring up Hamilton....and if you bring him into the discussion...then we should all feel free to discuss him. You and yours will discuss his dreaminess, while the other side discusses his faults. Such is life. And this particular topic has has name in it...so it should not be too awful distressing for you to read that he has his faults...though you certainly need not believe they exist. You could try covering your eyes and yelling...I'm not reading that! I'M NOT READING THAT!

Might work.

Sorry LB but Bill has a valid point that is 110% correct. Wait for the fallout Bill for speaking the truth and your opinion and in that sense all replies darn well be constructive as I have a itchy 'trigger finger' . You know what they say the truth hurt's and this is a perfect example.

Bollcks he is mate, i don't go on about he good he is at all, all i ever do if anything is say it like it is he only see's the negative but although i may be slightly bias i certainly don't look at him like hes the 2nd comming or anything.

He comes on he has a moan tells us how he's an actual racing driver and "know's these things" then f***s off when he gets told hes wrong.

then comes back and starts the same old crap all over again.

like a broken record...

It's a thread about Hamilton. His name is in the topic title. If the thread is about him, and I speak about him IN THE THREAD...you seriously are going to whine like this because I am talking about Hamilton? You are upset because I'm talking about his performance last year? Has he done anything worth discussing this year? Racechic's signature says he is the youngest world champion etc...that is in the past, are you going to get all hurt over that part of the past being discussed? Seriously man, you are stretching your point a little thin....how do you talk about Hamilton versus Button in a thread titled as such without talking about the past?

Oh and the hell you don't go on and on about Hamilton. This thread and every other that you, racechic or a couple others can possibly insert his name into. Every weekend's race topic becomes a discussion between you about whether or not this track suits his car and will he take the pole or be edged into second place. How unfair it was for him to start from the last row, because that tire wall obviously moved into his path...right as he was about to set a lap record of course. You know it's true man. It is difficult not to discuss Hamilton on this board...several of you simply won't allow a discussion to go by without bringing him up...so yeah, those of us who don't much like him are certainly going to offset your praises with some of the more colorful undisputed facts. You won't dispute those facts though, you will just say how you don't want to hear them. Ok...have you tried the "I'm not reading that" suggestion yet? This is a discussion board...and you are going to read things you don't like in here. You should take notice that while I disagree with you and yours over a point or three... I never cry about the fact that you have an opinion. It's called a discussion... The real problem you have with the points that I and others bring up is that I bring facts to the table that you can't prove false.

You say "Hamilton is the bestest driver ever!" And then I respond with "Well, he did cost his team a championship once and nearly did so a second time with rookie mistakes...here are some examples....I think that rules him out as the best ever...so far" You then get all hurt and emotional over it...but the truth is you gave an opinion based on nothing, then I gave an opinion with a half dozen concrete, indisputable facts to back it up. They are still only opinions...and your being upset because mine doesn't agree with yours is silly. If you care to disagree with me and discuss it, by all means do so...that is what these boards are for...but to get all twisted up because I don't agree with you, and then start throwing around insults and snide remarks just makes you look foolish. Stand behind your opinion like a grown up instead of being upset that others disagree with you.

Cant let all that go Im afraid :nono:, specialy since you brought my name in to it more than once. I agree with you, in this thread about hamilton you have every right to vent your spleen and give your honest opinion about Lewis. However, you must then expect spleen venting and differing views to be returned to you.

Yes I talk about Lewis, because he's my favourite driver, and i disagree with your analysis of things, however I dont insert his name into every thread, i usually respond to other peoples comments or give my opinion when he is being discussed.

QUOTE BILL:"I never cry about the fact that you have an opinion. It's called a discussion... The real problem you have with the points that I and others bring up is that I bring facts to the table that you can't prove false."

But you do make an almighty fuss about Lewis all the time and you talk about your honest opinion. Thats fine; but respect that other people's honest opinions may differ from yours.

QUOTE BILL "You say "Hamilton is the bestest driver ever!" And then I respond with "Well, he did cost his team a championship once and nearly did so a second time with rookie mistakes...here are some examples....I think that rules him out as the best ever...so far"

No one has said hamilton is "the bestest". We dont revert to the speech of a 3 year old just because we support Hamilton, again you cant help yourself being disrespectful and inviting arguement. In answer to your response, the other side of that coin is that in his rookie year and with a double world champion as a team mate he nearly won his team a world championship, and he remains the most sucessful rookie to date. Things can be looked at two ways, and they will be, but if you continually put down a great driver, who you know is supoted by others on this forum, then you will incite arguement back, so dont act suprised when you get it.
I realise you dont like hamilton, fair enough, but we dont need to keep hearing the same arguements time over. Sorry to be so negative, i dont like being like this....and its Silverstone tomorrow!!!So lets just respect differing views

Old opinions of button from Present Members-

Give jenson a Mclaren

Ron Dennis has said he doesn't want him. Why? Because he doubts his skill and commitment, like a lot of people. Button is another Tim Henman. Some flashes of skill, but not good enough to cut it at the top. His team mates have generally outpaced him (save in 2007), but Button's smoother style meant his car lasted longer than his team mate's, hence he picked up some points. His time is passed. Who would give him a drive in a top team when you have people such as Hamilton, Heidfeld, Kubica, Rosberg, Vettel et al. who are much younger and skilled ready and waiting.

NH is almost 31 and thus, older than JB. But I agree with your analysis :)

True. Thanks for that. The thing about Heidfeld though is he looks like he is going somewhere and is giving all the correct sound bites, for example, being prepared to work at things. All Button does is wallow in self pity.

Here I disagree with you - JB doesn't wallow in self pity - instead I'd say he's got his head up his arse!:lol::lol:

Head up his arse - definitely, no doubt.

now look at whats happening? I think we all doubted JB, and hated him? So what the hell. I don't want to cause an argument, just weird looking bck on an 08 post.

Why is this thread still going? It's clearly a pointlessly circular argument.
