Why dont we think that once Lewis has this device up runing and refined that he shouldnt get back on top where he belongs then?

Hes proved his worth that he is the best driver at this present time depending on getting his car sorted

Because McLaren could stick the best diffuser in the world on that car, but it still wouldn't help them. The problem seems to lie with the aero package as a whole, rather than just a single component.

as much as i hate to say it Denthúl is right , if you look at the car as an aerodynamic package is very poor indeed more towards the backend of the car with that rear wing and diffuser , the rear wing isnt doing what it was saying on the windtuneel and on the cfd's ! :( they way they ran the 08 rear wing so late into testing :banghead:

The Rear Wing could be one of the problems, remember McLaren kept using their 2008 rear wing throughout most of the winter tests. But if it's a problem with understeer in high-speed corners you'd think it would be a problem with the front wing or the KERS system unbalancing the car.

I think McLaren ought to try taking the KERS off Kovalainen's car during Friday practice at some point and see if it makes any difference at all.

Dont think its to do with the KERS. The airflow starts splitting unexpectedly and causing a stall. It comes on suddenly at a ceratin speed until which the car is stable, then its all over the place, its like the aero is suddenly turned off.

The car I dont think was designed to have the Device fitted hence the reason for the need for a compete chassis design to incorporate the diffuser.
Once this has been done Im sure Lewis will be back on top where he belongs.

It annoys me that Lewis is being disadvantaged by the lack of complete design package :banghead:

Better to right off this season and concentrate on the long term game then....onwards and upwards eh

McLaren knew what was coming last year and their car is a beast when KERS is implemented. Dont make excuse's for them when all of the teams had a choice to run it or not.

I thought they had the opp to do just that??

WHY does Lewis belong 'back on the top'?

I will agree with you on that  .
