Missed it today :censored: good to see Turkington getting ahead and away from Matt Neal in the championship though. Who'd have thought he'd be leading at this stage too?! It can all change round so quickly mind you... Giovanardi and Plato are very much still in the mix as well!

Just got back, it was a good day's action, we were at the complex for the first race when Vaulkhard and Chilton had their smashes, there was another good smash there in the Ginetta Juniors race (made it just in time coming back from a Donut stall with two girls who were slow and had the personality of a toadstool).

And then the crowning moment of the day was seeing Plato push Matt Neal off and we were glad we had moved to the first corner for the final Touring Car race. :D

Got some footage and photos from the day, I'll post them up probably tomorrow night. :)

I did indeed, and I'm still damp even now as I type - just waiting to go in the shower.

Unlucky... hope that's not the case next weekend.

I want it to rain next weekend :P

It might give us a different winner :hehe:

Don't tempt fate!

Hehehe

But in terms of BTCC, Croft provides some great racing, must have been annoyed though with that rain shower!

:P

Sorry, it just irks me that dry races at Silverstone have created less overtaking than four of Tilke's circuits in recent years >.<

Was wondering whether you'd enjoyed the rain today :hehe:

Looking forward to seeing the pics!

The only annoying part about the rain shower was when the safety car came out three times in the final race, everybody in the crowd groaned the moment they saw the lights on the Safety car switch on.

The Porsche Carrera cup races were a bit boring, and they are surprisingly quiet cars, and I was hoping to see the Formula Renault's crash left, right and centre like they did at Oulton Park. The Ginetta Juniors were good though, the best part was the orange car with the front bodywork hanging off and then he had to come in and have it all removed, looked more like a Hotrod afterwards. :hehe:

Plato's been given two penalty points for his antics.

I simply aquaplaned into Matt going into the corner – my car was out of control as I tried braking. Then as we turned the corner there was a huge puddle and I had to hit the power to get out of it and there was a bit more contact. It wasn’t deliberate and I did try explaining to him afterwards. If it hadn't been Matt then it would have been someone else.

If it hadn't have been Matt, would he really have aquaplaned at that point?! :hehe:

Incidentally, what's with the new stupid cost-cutting rules for the BTCC?? Front-wheeled drive cars only??? 2 litre turbo charged petrol engines only?? That means no BMW, no diesel-powered Seats.

I actually back the majority of proposals for the BTCC, simply because the series faces a number of seasons with a lack of manufacturer teams.
I agree the banning of rear wheel drive cars is a little harsh. It will result in the likes of WSR and Motorbase having to spend MORE money to find replacements, if they want to compete that is.
I suppose in the long run, standardising the likes of brakes etc, will save the teams money in the future and allow privateers to keep the series running. I think TOCA should be applauded for at least acting. Many series have no long term future plans and go from one crisis to another.

However I would have thought such proposals might actually deter future manufacturer entries?

Also I want to add that i'll shake Jason Plato's hand when I see him at Knockhill and thank him for his "aquaplaning" yesterday.
Well worth the penalty points

How much is the running cost for a car over the course of a season though? (would love to see the repair bill for Matt Neal :hehe: )

I think I'm just irked because I like seeing the mix of FWD and RWD cars in the field and it'll be sad to lose the Bimmers.
