I dont think Lewis did better in '08 than in '07. He made much more mistakes in '08, was less consistent, and he almost canned it again...

In '08 Lewis had some marvelous drives (perhaps highlighted by the fact he had the only MP4, but terrific drives regardless). Whereas in '07 he had a marvelous season.

With even a halfway decent manager, he could have taken the sport by storm. But with that moron of a father of his failing to reign him in, Lewis has generated as much animosity as he has adoration. Neither affects his paycheck though...so not like it matters. Still, I was set to like the guy...he drove for my favorite team, was team mates with a driver I really liked...it was everything I could have wanted....until he and Ron D lost their minds. Then Alonso started crying like a little girl and by the end of the season I didn't like any of them or the team very much. Which, oddly enough....didn't affect any of their paychecks. Life is strange.

We know you don't like Mclaren or Lewis.

But greatness is often overlooked in mediocre cars. So, can anyone say Lewis has shown 'greatness' this yr??

I think Lewis is doing the best he can with a crap aero/chassis package and it should not reflect upon his skill's as a driver. I mentioned once before that this situation has happened to most WDC champions in the past which is a fact.

How about this? If Lewis was dominating the WDC's championship would we be even discussing this topic because atleast 89-90% of the members here are Lewis fans due to their 'newbie status' to F1 or because they are supporting their fellow Brit which is ludicrous??? Maybe try to support the best driver/chassis who truelly deserves the victory over if they are a country man? I have never given a crap about if a driver was a 'homeboy' as I want the best driver/chassis to win yet if they dont oh well thats racing for ya.

This season has been a lot of fun for me because I don't really care who wins. We've had closer racing than in the past, some surprising teams are at the front...I think you hit it on the head when you said....That's racing for ya. Yes it is....and ain't it grand?

I 100% agree, I think for someone to have a half decent opinion needs to look at F1 s a sport and love it all, Not just base hate around one's success! I can honestly say I love every driver and team and like watching F1 now because I do not hate McLaren etc. It's called excepting that a team is better, plus there fricking British? How retarded can someone be not to like there own team? But with the fact of Lewis I just believe he is still the star of Motor Racing, I have never seen someone come from GP2 and clinch people’s hearts and eyes so quickly it is phenomenal! And I for 1 personally believe JB and LH have met their match? Lewis next year whether its FOTA Super League on ITV or it's FIA Formula One, and Lewis and JB are slugging it out for the top spot I can honestly bet my last Dollar that Lewis would steal it, JB maybe smooth,But Lewis is rough and don't take no for an answer! look at Lewis in Monaco? WOW, he smashed then scored the win? that’s pretty awesome? And last British GP? What sort of race was that? Lewis dominated! The only thing I like LH is how he "fights" when he is in a lower position, always on the active side of things instead of being passive. I have always enjoyed his "fights" for a higher position.
JB on the other hand, I have yet to see him "fight" like LH (although given his spaceship of a car BGP001, he honestly doesn't have to). But hopefully before 2009 ends, I hope we can see JB do some fighting. Real fighting for position like Rubens Vs. Heikki in Turkey.

You’re quite right! I think Jenson has had a little too easy, but then the same could be said for LH in 2007, I guess as DC said and I quote
“You are only as good as your car is”
and that is 100% right, Lewis I believe would beat Vettel but Vettel wouldn’t go down easy, but then with Button I don’t think he can fight? Look at the battle with DC? He took them both out? The only battle I have seen is him v Alonso when his helmet was nearly coming off? So that was spectacular but I want to see more from him this season otherwise we can honestly say he is a baby being given his dummy…another thing in which I do not like is that his negatives, when he’s fast yeah that car is bloody amazing but then when it comes down to him not receiving pole like he wishes too he then puts a right downer on the car? That’s not exactly nice is it? I smell a little bit of Robert Kubica! On the note of Rubbens he did some awesome overtaking and that particularly was the highlight of the whole GP! But he got way too hot headed
