How did I contradict myself? You don't need to be driving at 100mph to generate G-Forces; you experience G-Forces when a bus goes around a corner at 15mph. I never said that the F1 couldn't generate G-Forces; again I have been misquoted! G-Forces is not like downforce where a car needs to be travelling at 100mph for the aero affect to take effect!
I didn't claim there was nowhere to drive at more than 70mph; I was referring to the national speed limit of the UK; of course you can go faster on a track or on a private road but the majority of the time while driving on public roads you are limited to 70mph unless you happening to be travelling on the Autobahn. A car like the Lotus Elise gives you many of the thrills of a McLaren F1 without needing a top speed of 240mph. I'm not a fan of the McLaren F1; obviously you guys are which is fine. Let's call this to an end before the thread gets locked down!
if going fast around the track isnt your kind of driving experience then yeah the F1 isnt for you. Maybe go for a Camry!
Outright speed isn't so important to me; I enjoy G-Forces so something small and light usually works for me, I quite like the Lotus Elise or Exige, it may only do 150mph but it goes through corners better than many more expensive sports cars. Besides if driving on public roads what good is 240mph when you are restricted to 70mph?
And the F1 is such a tank of a car not capable of pushing its driver to the limit with alot of +G's ??
but there you have contradicted yourself you say you enjoy G Forces yet claim where can you drive a sports car more than 100kmh...
