Button also has a better race engineer.

Shove "GETTTT IN THERREEEE AWESOME LAP AWESOME LAP"

Hamilton's engineer: "Well done lewis, mix 5"

Probably.
Smedders is the best though.

That would have been when he was practically a rookie right????

(Im only continuing this arguement becuse its preferable to the school work I should be doing for tomorrow :D )

ps. I dont actually think Kovi is crap but I do think he's running out of time to prove that to people.

pps Hamilton HAS been dragging the car up the grid!

Yeah, i know Hamilton has done some good drives this season really, his first stint in Australia was especially good. Although i will say that despite a lot of struggles in an underdeveloped car last season, he had a few good drives himself (Barcelona where that Honda really should have been awful on paper, and Silverstone until he aquaplanned off), as well as his drives in the wet at the end of '07... Anyway, my true thoughts on this were summed up earlier in the thread, this whole debate could go on forever! :P

Think its best to just say JB is very good in his style of driving.

and Lewis is also very good in his style of driving.

And hopfully next year they'll both have equal cars so we can see a race.

I tell you what tho, when alonso left in 2007 with all the rumors of JB going to Mclaren i wish they had been true.

we'd of had the WDC and WCC with either of them.

Why all of a sudden are JB and LH the only guys who will in future compete for a title??

Haven't a clue. This may be Button's sole title.

i don't think anyone thinks that i think its just that Button is the current wdc leader and Hamilton is the current wdc soo

i remeber in 2008 everyone though it was going to be Kimi vs Lewis at the start

Yeah I guess.
F1 racing the magazine was also suggesting Alonso would be battling. I was like ""No how will he his car will be poor"" before the season even begun.

When it comes down to it, it is practically impossible to compare drivers based on their finishes. The cars, mechanics, pit strategy etc play too large of a role in where the car finishes. It really is a team sport at F1 level.

What you can directly compare on drivers is open track mistakes. What they do wrong says as much about them as how fast the car goes....unless of course they are team mates driving the same car. The fact is that Lewis made a lot of mistakes in 2007 and cost his team the championship..that can't be argued. He did a little better in 2008, but still his mistakes very nearly cost the team again. Button, on the other hand, has not put a wheel wrong at all this season. He is blowing away the competition in points but on track there is nearly always someone pushing him...yet not one single wheel wrong. If he made the mistakes that Lewis is famous for, the points battle would not be nearly this lopsided. For a guy that has never been up at the front like this, I personally find Button's current performance to be amazing. It takes a lot of discipline to keep your head down like he has, and despite all of the success this season...I have not once heard that he has said:

"You see, given a good car I am the man....I'm every bit as good as Senna or Schumacher." nor "Well, Vettel might have won that race if he had more balls" etc

Button is fast, he is likable, and he knows when to keep his mouth shut. He doesn't talk smack about other drivers in the press, nor has he chosen to punt any backmarkers off the track for fun...even when he laps LH who has had no problem doing so in the past.

how come u list lewis's mistakes in 07 and 08 and none of jensons ? a bit bias if i ask me bill :hehe:

I'm just guessing here, but I've gotta say it's cos Jens was practically driving a milk float those years.

I dont think Lewis did better in '08 than in '07. He made much more mistakes in '08, was less consistent, and he almost canned it again...

In '08 Lewis had some marvelous drives (perhaps highlighted by the fact he had the only MP4, but terrific drives regardless). Whereas in '07 he had a marvelous season.

for a guy who just entered the sport at his age, you couldnt have asked more from his first two seasons!

With even a halfway decent manager, he could have taken the sport by storm. But with that moron of a father of his failing to reign him in, Lewis has generated as much animosity as he has adoration. Neither affects his paycheck though...so not like it matters. Still, I was set to like the guy...he drove for my favorite team, was team mates with a driver I really liked...it was everything I could have wanted....until he and Ron D lost their minds. Then Alonso started crying like a little girl and by the end of the season I didn't like any of them or the team very much. Which, oddly enough....didn't affect any of their paychecks. Life is strange.

Brundle made a big statement after race on the F1 Forum.
He said at the moment Jenson is the better driver out of Lewis and him.

As Dc said, a driver is only as good as his car!!! com'on! Lewis is undoubtbly the better out of the 2, i will say this;
His attitude at the moment is awesome and i am proud of him, for the pure fact of he is happy and building a real mature character in which i admire, he will bounce back an bering the challenge to F1! that's if he stays by next season.....

Button's attitude was pretty much alright when he was loitering at the back of the grid too.

Yeah I agree with you there, but in the aspect of how Hamilton has been in the past, it has made me realise he's not a bad guy and this season he is getting it bad, but in the end I have to put it down to that Lewis is the face of Britain, he took his handy caps and his pros and came up with a world title in his second season, check his stats he always wins the title on his second year, JB is not on the level I would like to se him on, he isn't consistent unless the car is, Alonso is consistent and puts his :deadhorse: on the top slots and so is LH, last season RB out paced him? JB just is not acquired to my taste, it might be because he is dubbing down this sport :banghead:

We know you don't like Mclaren or Lewis.

Thanks again for reminding us i almost forgot about your dislike for that team.

Please can you put "i hate lewis and Mclaren" in your sig also just so on the rare occasion you make a non-bashing post (which is basicly never) we don't forget
