It's about the pits - not enough pit stalls available for more than 26 cars (in Monaco it's even fewer, I believe 22).

First practical answer.
Now, other regs have been made or changed so the track had to make alterations so theoretically what's to stop them just saying hey now it's 28 and the tracks have to comply? Other series have way more pit spots(albeit without garages) and aren't some garages bigger than others just to spoil the big points haul teams? Just theory, just saying, not saying it can or shold be done.

Many tracks are already struggling financially as it is, so that's one reason why there won't be more pits. Monaco's pit lane is very crammed already and given the circumstances, there's simply no space to add more pits. Yes, the bigger (better) teams have way bigger garages and space for their huge hospitality centers - life's unfair, suck it up!

Yes That's true and that's why I'm just saying it all as a what if type thing, but as for Monaco let's face it, it's a very impractical circuit and shouldn't be in F1 from a purely pragmatic standpoint.
I've been suck ing up a lot of unfairness and someday I'll burst and a whhole shitload of unfairness will get on everybody so take cover!

This is a massive climbdown by the teams, Max wins again.

I'd guess that Max will manipulate behind the scenes to get at least one team out. To scare the other teams to keep them in line.

Max is the Kim Jong Il of motorsport.

Well I don't know, according to Domenicalli's interview on crash.net, if there's a budget cap next year then all FOTA teams will withdraw....

That could be interesting then. By entering, then the teams would have power if they act as a block. Because that would stop Max filling up the team places with Swift Taxis F1 and others.

But we'll see, and I think Max has things sewn up.

I disagree. I think the teams win. 100mil cap this yearand the regs stay the same. If Mosely starts pissin around agen next year the teams make the same threat then and its a year closer ro 2012.Also by then MM and BE may be gone (finges frantically crossed!)

I believe no agreement has been made on anything at all; Ferrari have said they will not race unless everything remains the same as 2009. The teams just signed up because they didn't want to lose their place to a new team. Max hasn't won anything yet. I'll wait until 12th of June, see if Max caves in and if he doesn't will the likes of Toro Rosso, Brawn and Force India remain unified with FOTA? Ferrari don't want a cap at all it seems; so in 2011; the €45m cap is unlikely to happen either as they'll use the same excuse as this time around saying "they can't downscale their operation that quickly", FOTA united; I don't believe it for a minute!

He did buy votes, it was well documenterd. An African guy I believe(his name anyone??) Mosely does things like providing money for racing to be developed in countries in retun for favours. Did you know that countries steeped in motor racing history such as America, Germany, USA, GB etc only get one vote per country and countries with no motor racing at all get the same? Also, when that vote took place Mosely had it set up so that all those who absteined were counted as votes in his favour.
Yes his personal life is his own but when it brings F1 in to disrepute to such an extent that GP hosting countries wil not allow him to attend the GP, then maybe he should reconsider his position. At the very least he should realise he is not fit to judge what does and what does not constitute bringing the sport into disrepute.

If that is true then Max does need to go; but in reality the FIA needs a complete overhaul; non competing countries shouldn't have a seat on the council!

But regardless of the FIA, the whole situation is a mine is bigger than yours contest; less politics; more racing. I agree with the budget cap idea, if not necessarily the implementation, I've made no secret of that. This is why I don't like so many conflicting powers in F1; it ruins the sport completely; races decided in court rooms; protests about car parts that have been deemed legal and now this debacle over the budget cap; teams threatening to quit; basically Ferrari, Toyota, Red Bull and Renault throwing a tantrum; "if we can't play by our rules then we don't want to play at all". Good for the sport; I think not!!!
