If you gave everyone points, you wouldn't get those brilliant celebratory situations where the likes of Minardi get a point...

I haven't worded that too well but hopefully it makes sense!

I know what you mean. Going to 15th isnt everybody though.

It would have been last Sunday. Ah I see, you wanted for LH to score a point or two :hehe:

No. Hadnt even crossd my mind. I want him scrapping at the front not the back. Just think taking the points further would be better.

Well if points went to 15th, or even 10th, do think Super Aguri would've been this happy at Canda 2007

No, I doubt. It would've just been an above average day. But for them, it was a spectacular day.

I don't get why people want to change the points system now. People are turning it into a scapegoat. An excuse for the lack of overtaking. There's nothing wrong with the points system, so if its not broken don't fix it. Maybe add a point for pole position and fastest lap, but I'd say thats about it. Leave things as they are.

Also, drivers will fight for any positions. Whether it's 15th or 1st. Drivers are just the most competitive bunch out there, and of course they'll fight for say 14th or 15th place even if it means no extra points.

Awww! They look so cute!!!

What is this ridiculous obsession with giving everyone a Point? All it does is make them worthless.

i disagree it would make people from 8 and below race more.

Why would it do that? They're already getting points. As it is now, they have to race more if they want any.

what do you mean already getting points, i mean from 8 and below.

if someone was 10th and got another point for being 9th and could catch someone then they might do it otherwise especially if they are fighting for the championship.

i'd take it down to 15th

No, you've completely misunderstood what I said. If you give points to more positions Say 15), that is not going to incentivise someone in 11th to race hard to get 10th. The points would be so worthless, the difference would not be worth the risk.

i disagree, what's the point in someone who is 11th now pushing to get 10th?

Prestige mostly, though it doesn't count for much. That doesn't mean saying "If you overtake him, we'll earn an extra point" is going to create more drama if Points are so easy to come by, especially in the final phase of a race.

Nah i don't think an F1 team or F1 driver would car more for prestige, for example.

If lewis was running 12th in Monaco hes not going to push to get 11th and risk taking himself out for nothing when there could be attrition.

However if there was 1 point in it for him then he would.

Why bring Lewis into the equation as this thread is not about him?

My intention was not to bring Lewis into this, just to use him as an example.

It just so happens that's where Lewis finished in Monaco, hence why i used him to make my point.

Personally, I dislike both the Poison Dwarf and Mad Max. I always have a suspicion that PD has a 'zapper' which he can use to knock out an unfavoured car when doing well.
I think there should be more differential in points between 1st and second. Second place is the best of the losers!
