Mostly down to cooling. The car's definitely quick, but it's not streets ahead like it was in testing, and it's not the fastest everywhere. But Jenson is driving at the top of his considerable game
Chuffin hell, you could have put Gazza in that car and he would got podium, sod all to do with Button, its the car that's lightening fast. Look at him the last 2 seasons in a crap car, back of the grid and rarely in the points
Podiums and Wins are different things.
If you can't understand why 2007 and 2008 are irrelevant I'm not wasting ym time trying to explain it, just read this:

Button is Good and he did a great job last race But he's still not Lewis status in my eyes just yet.
He'll have to do a Monaco, Silverstone or Hockenheim to get that.
He's not a lewis and the article by mark Hughes that Jensnob quoted seems to agree.
"However, give him a car in which the rear end darts nervously around under braking or which does not turn in as decisively as he needs, and he struggles. He is, in other words, fantastic in a good car, ordinary in a bad one.
He is not a swashbuckling, attacking driver in the way that Lewis Hamilton, for example, is. Hamilton can get more out of a mediocre car, as he is proving at the moment, but put each of them in a good one and they would be extremely closely matched. " (Mark Hughes)
Its what ive always said about Jenson, he's very good when everything suits but he cant drive around problems.
