Ok, you are probably right.
There is a mechanic somewhere on that team who has been chewed up one wall and down the other. The brakes are a simple system in comparison to the other aspects of the car and should never fail in that way. Sticking caliper maybe? Other than that, all I can think of is improperly bled brake line and either way a mechanic should never have allowed that to happen. Without antilock installed, I can't think of anything else that could cause that type of failure. With antilock, it can be a sensor failure but in a straight mechanical system....poor mechanic. F1 brakes are a straight hydraulic system aren't they? With weight being of such an importance, I'm wondering if the weight of the brake fluid didn't bring about some other system I'm unaware of.
