please bear in mind that in 2006, the performance differential between the cars was a lot higher than it is now...

also bear in mind that kimi started from the back of the grid, so was on the same lap as everyone else, and that he would have made up several places off the grid. Lewis, by the time the cars were all chnging to dry tyres, was over a lap down on the next last driver, once all had changed, he'd only unlapped himself from 2 drivers, so he had to unlap himself from everyone, then do a complete lap more than them to make up the place, if he'd been on the same lap, he'd have been third, no problem, his pace matched that of alonso, massa and raikonnen througout the race, no-one else was that close

Lewis is a great driver and has shown in the lower formulae that he can overtake, however, Alonso, Raikkonen and Massa have shown they can get by people as well.

Didn't Heidfeld pass him in another race?

With the car in the right conditions even Kimmi, Massa or Hamilton
would struggle to pass Alonso.
I have yet to see Hamilton to really fight for a position ( to take or to defence), and don't tell me
that the first corner in the usa gp defending from alonso counts.

By the way, Hi everyone. Glad I've found this forum. :D

Defending against Massa in Malasia? Along with some great moves off the start there and in Australia.

OT: I was unsure about the rules while watching as to whether or not he'd be allowed to continue racing after being lifted back onto the track and if what he did was within the rules there's no problem there but I can't see how what he did would increase or add any element of danger to the situation.

First of all, Hamilton is one of the best RACERS we have seen in formula one for a long time. His bold and brave moves have made the sport interesting again, instead of whats happened in previous years by watching 22 cars going round and round again waiting for the pit-stops which appears to be the only place they can overtake (cough schumacher cough). I suppose its unsafe to overtake? to defend your line? They are racing!!!
Hamilton's decision to stay in his car with the engine running was the best possible decision he could of made in that situation. The car provided safety for himself as running to the tyre barrier would of been a bit suicidal given the fact that cars were sliding off the track every few seconds. Now im sure you wouldn't of liked to see hamilton get skittled down now would you. He was being no more of a danger by being in the car as the car would of remained there even if hamilton decided to jump out.

I didn't seen any "brave move" from LH, he just keep his position if it's possible.

Why NOW it's banned to be help by a crane?, maybe because Liuzzi could die if he goes a little bit fast when he hits the crane who are going to help JUST LH?

Show me ONE bold move by LH. The only 'bold' moves I've seen are his swerving at the start, which are just within the legality, sometimes though crossing the line imho.

Defending it's easy comparing to attacking...
