I think Senna turning down the DTM drive with Mercedes may be saying something at Renault.

My thoughts about Bahrain are that Toyota could have the upper-hand here. They tested here during winter, so they should have an advantage in terms of setup data. Obviously it will be warmer now than in the winter testing, but I think their general idea about downforce levels and suspension settings might help them get at least one driver on to the front row. Of course, seeing how fast the Red Bulls were here in China makes me think that they could challenge again next week. I'm looking forward to it.

BrawnGP- Podium
RBR Renault- Might just slightly miss the podium (maybe SV with a 3rd)
Mclaren- Big challenger for 3rd or 4th
Toyota- somewhere in the middle
Williams- same middle
STR Ferrari- Hopefully Buemi can continue to finish in the points
Renault- middle of the pack
BMW- middle of the pack, Kubica behind NH struggling with balance
Force India- at the back
Ferrari (big SIGH)- probably struggle with pace. Might just miss out the points (9th+)

Seriously: I reckon Red Bull Racing/Brawn GP/Toyota Racing will be the top 6 cars in Qualifying and the Race

I think the battle here is between Brawn and Toyota, the faster teams under dry conditions so far (Excluding China Qualifying which went pear-shaped for Toyota, though Brawn remained fastest), with Red Bull scrapping in there too. Could wind up as a 4-6 way fight for the win. Button would be the pick of the Brawns, Trulli of the Toyotas and Vettel of the Red Bulls. I could see that winding up as the Podium actually.

Sounds like McLaren will have some upgrades for Bahrain hopefully that will give them an extra 2 tenths or so. I'm hoping for some nice solid points from both drivers consistency will be key for McLaren this season.

I hope Williams bring some upgrades to allow Nico to continue scrapping up at the top like he had been in Melbourne and Sepang. It won't improve Nakajima's performance though, and even if it does he'll stick it in the wall.

I think someone wants Nakajima gone! I think the Williams still has some pace just wasn't a top weekend for them.

Shanghai is a bogey track for them now, even with the competitiveness of the FW31. People just seem to be brushing off Williams when they talk about Brawn, Toyota and Red Bull at the top and I think it's Nakajima who's ruining the team's credibility with his lacklusture pace and his prone-ness to crashing. Last year I gave him the benefit of doubt because of his inexperience and the awfulness of the FW30 and expected him to do much better this year. But then in Melbourne he missed out on Q3 by a hundredth and just played it down to the field being so tight. But in Malaysia and this weekend in Shanghai he has just gotten worse and was embarrasingly poor in the race. Because of Nakajima Williams have effectively only got one driver (just like Renault).

let's not forget redbull qualified 1st and 3rd on a relatively dry day. so what's up with people saying the redbulls are only fast in the wet?

they're equally fast in the dry as well. and that's without a double deck diffuser and kers.

they're equally fast in the dry as well. and that's without a double deck diffuser and kers.

You have to look at just how much lighter they were, though. Had Brawn taken three laps of fuel out of each car, they probably would've been up front.
