Weber has offered him to Jordan.
And yes,Jordan has a share to it.
But Flavio saw his talent after his first race and brought him to Benetton for the next years.

Flavio saw him after someone else brought him to F1.

I think Schumacher was driving in german for Tom Walkinshaw when he pointed him out to Bernie, and Bernie give Eddie a nudge (that is from memory so might be a load of poo)

[Blue Shadow]

You are right, but other team principals like for example Ron Dennis hadn't noticed his talent.
It was a great coup by Briatore to bring him to Benetton.

Didnt he get the drive because (Gauchot?) was in prison for assault and couldnt race? And then he screwed up in the first race? Not sure if Im mixing things up.

[Jabberwocky]

was it Gauchot? can not remmber

it was a contract mistake that Eddie made sure he never did again

[Blue Shadow]

No,you don't mix things up.
And yes,you are right,he actually screwed up before leaving the first corner.
But his lap times were amazing, especially in the qualification.

Opportunity arrived when Jordan's Formula One driver Bertrand Gachot found himself in jail and Schumacher was given a test with the Irish team. His times were a revelation and Schumacher was quickly signed or so it was thought.

Yeah, it was Big Tom who started it all off as Schumi was driving in the World Sportscar Championship for him at that time, and Tom had taken over the management of Benetton halfway through 1991 and was preparing to give either Piquet and/or Moreno the boot. Moreno got the boot, Schumi made Piquet look like he was the rookie.
