There is a very fine line between brave and stupid choices. Perhaps they aren't as good as weighing up possibilities as they were with Brawn, Todt, and others on board. But they're still looking for the "inspired" moves and gaining advantages with surprise strategies as they used to do. Perhaps they feel that they need to find these advantages to make up for their car disadvantages, and aren't being careful enough to consider the underlying probabilities. While McLaren are being more conservative, and are happy to tool around picking up midfield points when others drop out.
Though, McLaren's actions in lying to the stewards could be an expression of desperation too. In that they've gone for a high risk strategy, just to get a single point.
If McLaren and Ferrari are getting a bit frantic, and ragged, in the search for points, I'd guess this means that they don't expect to be catching up to the front runners any time soon. And therefore are very worried about other teams (namely Brawn) getting too much of an advantage.
I'm guessing its not off the ball... it appears they lost it and still looking for that ball. I am really messed up with they way they carrying on. dumb choice after stupid ones. Why dont they ask ones of the parking attendats for some advice. This really pissing me I tell you !!
