Villagers in Elvington, a small village in England, have won a small victory against Formula 1 testing. This year, 16 tests have been held at Elvington Aerodrome but judges have ruled that from next year onwards, there can only be a maximum of 10 per year.

Formula 1 teams use Elvington to for aerodynamic mapping tests which are used to cross check wind-tunnel results. Elvington was originall chosen because at 1.9 miles long, it is one of the largest runways in England. There are fears thay Formula 1 teams based in England will now move abroad because of the ruling.
