Jackie Stewart believes that Michael Schumacher has chosen to return to Formula One because he was bored. Stewart also believes that Schumacher may find this season more competitive than when he raced previously thanks to a wealth of driver talent.
“He was a frustrated, retired-too-soon, former world champion,” Stewart said in an interview with British newspaper The Metro.
“I mean, why in God’s name would you go riding motorcycles and pretending to be the Stig on Top Gear? It doesn’t make sense. He clearly missed the sport and his retirement was a mistake.
“There was a void of highly-competitive drivers with highly-competitive cars, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case this year.”
