Silverstone has revealed details of it s redevelopment plan which is aimed at keeping the track on the Formula 1 calendar in the long-term. In recent times, Bernie Ecclestone has urged the track to upgrade it s facilities or risk losing the hosting of an F1 Grand Prix.

Planning documents have now been released on the South Northamptonshire Council website to allow local residents to be consulted on the project. The new-look Silverstone is set to have two new hotels, a conference and exhibition centre and a technology park as well as residential housing. The track layout itself will remain unchanged although the pit-lane and paddock area may be moved there are two potential options for the pit-lane to either keep them where they are between Woodcote and Copse, or to move them to the straight between Club and Abbey.
