Monza has secured its place as the host of the Italian Grand Prix until 2016, after reaching a new deal with Bernie Ecclestone.
Speculation had surrounded the future of the event, with plans already in place to hold a street race around the city of Rome as early of 2013.
However, the new deal guarantees the future of the historic event, which will mean that if there is to be a race in Rome then it will have to be added to the calendar as a separate entity.
