Mecachrome, a precision engineering company involved in aviation and motor racing, has reportedly decided to end their involvement in Formula One.
Since 1979, Mecachrome have been involved with Renault s motor sport division and have helped them with F1 machining, engine assembly, test bench runs and race-track deliveries. However having announced financial losses and with Renault wanting to go it alone in F1, it has been reported by Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell that Mecachrome have decided to turn their focus away from Formula 1 towards an engine program for Le Mans.
