It is reported that Robert Kubica (or his replacement) may have a different race engineer for Indianapolis. Ossi Oikarinen, one of BMW’s test engineers, was seen at Montreal this weekend, probably so that he can learn the ropes.
Mehmi Ahmadi, Kubica’s normal race engineer, has not yet been granted his visa to enter the US for the weekend’s racing and BMW are unsure as to whether he will be granted permission in time.
BMW spokesperson Jorg Kottmeier confirmed, “We are still waiting for the visa. If we cannot get it, Oikarinen will do his job in Indianapolis.”
