According to recentnews reports, Heikki Kovalainen has secured his race seat at Team Lotus for a further two years.
The news comes after several newspapers have stated that his teammate Jarno Trulli has also signed a contract for the 2012 F1 season.
The media statement issued by the Tony Fernandes-led team at Monza made no mention of Kovalainen’s status at Team Lotus for next season.
However newspapers are claiming that this is because Kovalainen has already signed a contract to take him until the end of the 2013 season therefore there was no reason for the team to mention it.
