Yamamoto retains seat for Hungary

Sakon Yamamoto will continue to drive for the Hispania Racing Team for the next race, the Hungarian Grand Prix, it was confirmed today.

The Japanese stood in for Bruno Senna at Silverstone, where he finished last, and Karun Chandhok at Hockenheim, where he retired after 19 laps with what was thought to be an engine problem.

He will partner Bruno Senna in Hungary, although Chandhok is expected to return to a race seat at some point.

“I can’t wait to go back to the Hungaroring as I know the circuit already very well from my Formula 1 races with Super Aguri, Spyker F1 and with ART in GP2 series,” said Yamamoto in a team preview.
