Ralf Schumacher has dismissed claims that 2007 will be his last season in Formula 1. Ralf’s older brother Michael retired from the sport at the end of last season and there are rumours that Ralf’s expiring contract with Toyota could spell the end of his time in Formula 1.
On Friday, at the launch of Toyota’s TF107, bosses said they were mulling over whether to pick up a two-year option on Ralf’s contract for 2008/2009 however no decisions would be made until a few races into the new season.
Ralf himself has made his feelings clear – “I can promise you one thing – I’m not even close to thinking about quitting,” he said. After the season has started, Ralf also said he would sit down with his manager and the Toyota chiefs to discuss what the future will hold.
