Webber admits staying at Red Bull is a wise choice

Having hinted that moving to Ferrari is still an option just 24 hours ago, Mark Webber has now suggested that he will be staying with Red Bull.

Webber’s contract with Red Bull runs out at the end of the 2012 season. Both Christian Horner and Dr Helmut Marko have hinted they would like to keep both drivers at the team for the 2013 F1 season.
But Webber, 35, had admitted to having some “light” talks with rival teams, with the biggest rumour indicating a move alongside his friend Fernando Alonso at Ferrari.

On Saturday at Silverstone, however, the Monaco winner suggested that if Red Bull wants to keep him, he might not be wise to abandon a winning team.

“Exactly,” he told the Melbourne newspaper Sunday Age. “If they want me, which I think they do.”
