Vettel is having a difficult fortnight. Having had his ten-place grid penalty for crashing into Webber during the Japanese Grand Prix annulled, he has picked up a five place grid place penalty for blocking Kovalainen during the Finn s best qualifying lap.
Vettel qualified in 12th place however with the penalty applied, he will now start tomorrow s race in 17th position.
Race stewards also investigated allegations that Anthony Davidson undertook the BMW of Robert Kubica in the pit lane during Saturday morning s free practice, however he was found innocent and therefore no punishments were given.
Meanwhile, it is rumoured that Fernando Alonso was so cross with his qualifying performance that he threw his helmet on the ground in the hospitality suite after qualifying before ripping a door off it’s hinges.
The provisional grid for the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix now looks like:
1 Hamilton, 2 Raikkonen
3 Massa, 4 Alonso
5 Coulthard, 6 Schumacher
7 Webber, 8 Heidfeld
9 Kubica, 10 Button

13 Kovalainen, 14 Davidson
15 Rosberg, 16 Barrichello
