Vettel disagrees with Alonso, Button over relative pace

Sebastian Vettel has contradicted claims by Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button that the Ferrari F10 is the class of the field. Vettel believes it is still too early to say exactly where everyone is, although he did concede the Ferrari looked good.

“Ferrari has looked pretty strong,” the German told Austria’s Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper.

“But all the top teams are making improvements to the cars, so there is more to come,” said Vettel.

“It is still too early to assess how strong everyone really is,” he added.

Vettel’s comments come only days after Jenson Button fulsomely praised the Ferrari after having followed it at Jerez, while Fernando Alonso yesterday announced the F10 was the best car he had ever driven.

The blogosphere is awash with speculation about the relative form of the teams.
