Speed’s alternative career?

Scott Speed has yet to be formally announced as the second driver in the Toro Rosso line-up. Team boss Gerhard Berger has admitted that are ‘contractual issues’ as well as questions over Speed’s commitment, although he has confirmed that Speed will be present in Melbourne next month.

So maybe Speed is hedging his bets – he is one of a handful of Formula 1 drivers who will be taking part in a tennis tournament next month. The Pitstop Tennis Pro-Am Tournament is a charity fundraising initiative in aid of the Mark Webber Challenge Foundation and will take place on Tuesday, 13 March 2007 at the Albert Reserve Tennis Australia Facility. Limited tickets are available, so spectators are urged to turn up early to guarantee a place.

Drivers who are set to make an appearance are Mark Webber, Nick Heidfeld and Alex Wurz, along with professional platers Paul McNamee and Jason Stoltenberg.
