Parade lap Massa is slow to leave the grid, leading an over eager marshal to wave his yellow flag.
Jarno Trulli stalls his car as he joins the grid due to a fuel pressure problem. Massa leads the remaining drivers around for another lap as marshals clear the stricten Toyota.
Trulli starts from the pitlane, keeping his revs high to avoid stalling his problematic car.
Alonso runs wide into turn one, as Massa holds position. Hamilton overtakes Kimi Raikkonen, with the Finn only just avoiding the recovering Alonso.
Fisichella runs wide, causing an accident between Alex Wurz and Ralf Schumacher. Both cars pit, Wurz with suspension damage.
With 64 laps to run, Alonso challenges Raikkonen. Williams mechanics continue to try and fix Wurz’s car.
62 to go and Jarno Trulli fights back from the back of the field, passing Adrian Sutil into turn one. Wurz retires.
Lap 5, Massa begins to build a buffer ahead of the chasing McLaren of Lewis Hamilton, just four seconds behind.
With 58 laps to go, Webber is instructed to pit due to multiple failures. Trulli retires a lap later.
56 laps to go, Kimi Raikkonen limps back to his garage and retires with electrical problems. Scott speed suffers a left rear tyre failure on his 180mph approach to turn one a lap later, leading to a yellow flag situation, while marshal retrieve the tyre and his car.
49 to go, Massa leads Hamilton by nine seconds, ahead of Alonso, Kubica, Heidfeld, Coulthard and a chasing Kovalainen.
Two laps later, Barrichello pits along with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. Massa’s fuel rig leaks fuel over the exhaust system, causing a fire as the Ferrari leaves the pits.
McLaren respond as Alonso pits. A lap later, Liuzzi retires to the pits, just as David Coulthard comes in for fuel. The Scott only just avoiding the Toro Rosso round the blind sighted pit entrance.
43 to go, Barrichello and Button collide after Jenson’s pit stop. Button returns to the pit for a new front wing, only to struggle to pull away from the unscheduled stop.
Heidfeld leads with 42 to go, having not stopped, followed by Massa and Hamilton.
Heidfeld pits, but leaves the box with the wheel gun still attached. A Toyota mechanic stops the wheel nut with his foot, but Heidfeld still leaves the pit, quickly finding his front wheel isn’t attached properly.
39 to go, Heidfeld has his wheel reattached and rejoins in fifteenth. Kovalainen closes in on fifth placed Coulthard, as the sister Renault, driven by Fisichella, fights with Barrichello.
35 to go, Kovalainen pits early in an attempt to get track position over Red Bull’s David Coulthard. He rejoins in seventh, behind the Williams of Rosberg.
31 to go, Albers is given a stop go penalty for ignoring blue flags.
26 laps to go, Alonso appears to be struggling on the harder compound tyre. Raikkonen leaves the circuit, trying to avoid the traffic!
Next lap, Fisichella pits, meanwhile his team-mate, Kovalainen, is the fastest driver on-track.
24 to go, Massa pits behind Barrichello’s Honda. Hamilton leads the race as Coulthard pits from fifth.
22 to go, Fisichella instructed to push, as the team failed to put enough fuel in his car. According to the team, both drivers have been affected with an under delivering fuel rig.
20 to go, Ralf Schumacher drives into the pits and into retirement with front suspension issues.
19 to go, Hamilton pits, taking on the harder compound tyres and fuel. Kubica also pits, as his BMW team-mate Heidfeld, retires with gearbox problems.
6 to go, Fisichella pits and fails to rejoin ahead of the Super Aguri of Sato. Hamilton struggles with his harder compound tyres, just as did his team-mate, Alonso during his second stint.
5 to go, 5th placed Coulthard appears to be struggling, some six seconds off the pace having lost a gear.
2 to go, Rosberg closes in on Coulthard, as the Scott loses two seconds a lap with gearbox issues.
Massa takes Victory, securing the third victory of the season for Ferrari. Hamilton leads the World Championship with second on the podium, ahead of his two times World Champion team-mate Alonso. Coulthard limps home in fifth ahead of Rosberg, and behind BMW’s Kubica. Kovalainen finishes in seventh, with the Super Aguri holding onto eighth for a point, ahead of Fisichella.
