Belgian Grand Prix: Practice Session 1 Round-Up

With many in the paddock still reeling in shock at the penalty handed down to McLaren yesterday, it was an uneventful first free practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.

Track temperatures were cool, with Ferrari top and bottom of the timesheets. Kimi Raikkonen finished the session top, closely followed by the two McLarens of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, with BMW s Nick Heidfeld and Williams Nico Rosberg in fourth and fifth.

Felipe Massa appears to be having another torrid weekend and crashed on his first lap at Rivage, going across the gravel before sticking the nose of his F2007 into the tyre wall, bringing out the yellow flags. Massa was unable to participate in the rest of the session and finished bottom of the timesheets. Tonio Liuzzi also brought out the yellow flags as he spun his Toro Rosso.
