Spa Francorchamps has been given the green light to host a three day test later this year. It was recently rumoured that teams wanted to test at Spa rather than the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona later in the year because the circuit has only hosted one Formula 1 race in the past three years.
The Spa test has been confirmed as running between the 10th and 12th of July, on the weekend just after the British Grand Prix.
The layout for the track has been modified slightly since 2005, and Spa now also boasts a new paddock and pit complex. Work is scheduled to be completed in mid to late May, leaving plenty of time before testing is due to take place.
