According to the German media, Michael Schumacher is in talks with Ferrari about the possibility of him becoming the new team manager. Although Schumacher retired at the end of the 2006 season, he has been fully involved in all the 2007 season preparations.
“He has been in Maranello more often this year than all the years in the past”, an anonymous Ferrari manager commented. Schumacher has all data and test times piped to him at home and one of his major tasks is helping Kimi Raikkonen settle into the Ferrari team.
However Ferrari communications manager Luca Colajanni has denied these rumours. “I have nothing to say,” he said. “I prefer to ignore such reports. Michael is clearly involved with the team, but this particular report is nonsense!”. When asked if he expected the speculation to continue, he said “But of course! That is what the media does – speculate.”
