Nico Rosberg says he is excited about the prospect of teaming up with Michael Schumacher to lead an all-German line-up at Mercedes GP.
The German, who signed for the Brackley-based team earlier this year, had been generally left in the dark about his potential team-mate with reports suggesting that he would be partnered by Nick Heidfeld.
However in the aftermath of today s announcement, Rosberg was full of praise for his new team-mate and acknowledged the challenge which Schumacher now posed.
“It is fantastic that Michael is returning to Formula One and will be my team-mate…†the 24-year-old told the team s official website, “It s a great challenge for me to be up against one of the best drivers of all time.
“I m sure that we will form a very strong partnership as he will have lost none of his speed! It is also great news for our sport and the fans.â€
