Ex-Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi has said that Kimi Raikkonen is privileged to be driving for the Ferrari team. Alesi drove for Ferrari between 1991 and 1995 and has said that it is “the best place to be in F1.” He then added, “For Raikkonen, a paradise awaits. I remember signing autographs for a whole hour on an Italian freeway – just because I drove for Ferrari. It’s like being a doctor – you are respected all over the World.” Alesi also said that he had no regrets about pulling out of a deal with Williams to drive for Ferrari, who at the time were the less competitive of the two teams. “You say I could have become World Champion?”, he asked. “I also could have died. Like Senna, who also drove for Williams, who knows what my destiny could have been?”.
