Claudio Paciotti, chairman of influential fan club ‘Gubbion Ferrari’ has added his voice to the growing number of people who are disappointed at Raikkonen’s form so far this season.
“We have not yet seen the achievements from him that we were promised,” Paciotti complained. “Did he leave his ability behind at McLaren-Mercedes?”
Jackie Stewart also criticised Raikkonen’s focus when, after retiring due to a technical problem at the Spanish Grand Prix, Raikkonen chose to leave the circuit early in order to catch the end of a hockey game.
Raikkonen himself is not bothered by it all though. “It has nothing to do with me,” he said. “What should I say?”. As if to prove that he really isn’t that fussed, he went on a shopping spree over the weekend and has reportedly bought a 22-metre luxury yacht for $3.4 million – just in time for the Monaco Grand Prix.
