David Richards, boss of new F1 team Prodrive, has stated that Prodrive have already attracted a title sponsor for their debut season.

Prodrive will being testing in December of this year. Further details on the car, drivers and sponsors are scheduled to be announced at the British Grand Prix. One of the details most talked about is who will be supplying the cars and engines to the Prodrive team – the hottest tip being that it will be McLaren Mercedes.

Richards has hinted that his driver line-up will feature a young rookie alongside a veteran prompting speculation that Gary Paffett and Pedro de la Rosa may get the chance to race once more. Eagle eyed followers have noted that Paffett has signed a contract with DTM for this season only, adding fuel to the fire that he already has plans for the future. He was also recently quoted as saying “I’ve always made my intentions clear that F1 is where I want to be in 2008. It’s my aim to do my very best and to get prepared for 2008 and keep workin with McLaren-Mercesed to that end.”
