Craig Pollock’s 2014 engine supplier Pure has signed up Gilles Simon.
The Frenchman is most famous for being Ferrari’s former engine boss, but most recently he was the FIA’s powertrain chief.
He has now left the latter role to become technical director of BAR founder Pollock’s new F1 engine supplier foray.
A statement confirmed that Simon will start his new job in August.
“This opportunity is a fantastic challenge and allows me to go to back to my passion — designing engines,” he said.
