In a survey by Virgin Money, Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has been voted third most powerful senior citizen, behind Manchester United’s manager Alex Ferguson, and environmentalist David Attenborough. Ecclestone was placed ahead of people such as the Queen, Nelson Mandela, Rupert Murdoch and Ralph Lauren.
The survey highlights that there are many successful older people in the World, and just because you are in the later realms of your life, it does not mean you have to sit back and take life easy. With a wealth of experience behind them, older people have a lot they can contribute to society and it proves that older people should be allowed to continue working should they want to.
