Race stewards have opted not to punish Lewis Hamilton over the weekend s accident between Vettel and Webber.

Both Webber and Vettel suggested that Hamilton had been braking and accelerating in an unpredictable fashion whilst behind the safety car the implication being that his driving caused the accident between the pair. All three drivers were summoned in front of the race stewards today to discuss the incident.

Race stewards took the decision not to punish the McLaren driver as they felt punishments would be inappropriate given the difficult, wet conditions on the track. As such, they have also annulled the penalty given to Vettel ensuring that he will now not face a ten place grid penalty at this weekend s race in Shanghai.
